Spring Tune-Up & Smart Upgrades: Get Your FUV Road-Ready
Spring is finally showing off—and if you’re like most FUV owners, that means more seat time, more miles, and fewer excuses to stay parked. Before you hit the road, though, it’s a good idea to give your FUV a quick once-over and consider a few upgrades that can save you headaches (and money) down the line.
🌱 Seasonal Check-Up: The Basics That Matter
As temperatures rise, start with the simple stuff:
- Tire pressure: Keep it dialed between 35–40 PSI for optimal performance and safety.
- Parking brake: Make sure it’s functioning properly and adjusted if needed—nothing ruins a ride faster than realizing it’s not doing its job.
⚡ Convenience Package: Small Upgrades, Big Difference
If you’re tired of awkward workarounds and “why did they design it like this?” moments, the Convenience Package is a game changer.
- 12V Kill Switch
Installed right next to the key switch on the dash, this lets you shut down the 12V system instantly—no more removing panels and digging around for the breaker like you’re defusing a bomb. - Battery Tip (This One’s Important)
If your FUV is going to sit for a while, disconnect the 12V battery instead of leaving it plugged in. Onboard chargers aren’t meant to cycle on and off for months—it’s basically like making them run a marathon while you’re binge-watching Netflix. - Momentary Windshield Wipers
Added to the left handlebar controls, this wiring upgrade gives you better control in light rain—because sometimes you just need a quick swipe, not a full-blown storm mode.
🔧 Charging System Upgrades: Protect the Expensive Stuff
Let’s talk about keeping your system cool and your wallet intact.
- Cooling Pump Relay Upgrade
This adds a relay to deliver a full 12V to the cooling pump. The stock setup underpowers it, and over time that can lead to failure. Think of this as giving your pump the energy drink it desperately needed. - Radiator Fan Shroud
By spacing the fan away from the radiator, a shroud allows air to flow across the entire surface instead of just one spot. Better airflow = better cooling = longer life for your onboard charger. And trust me, replacing that charger is not anyone’s idea of a fun weekend expense.
🚀 Ready to Upgrade?
If any of these upgrades sound like something your FUV could benefit from, let’s get it dialed in. Reach out and we’ll get you scheduled—your future self (and your FUV) will thank you.
